James S. Arthurs was appointed to the newly created position of President, Gerber Scientific, Asia Pacific, and named Non-Executive Chairman of Gerber Technology, effective February 2005. Mr. Arthurs was formerly President of Gerber Technology. He joined Gerber in 1980 and has held various positions over the years in sales and marketing with a focus in international marketing.

Prior to joining Gerber, Mr. Arthurs spent eight years with The Singer Company as Director of Credit, International Group, based at European Headquarters in Germany, and then at World Headquarters in New York City. Prior to that, he spent six years in marketing, distribution and finance with Gallaher Ltd., a U.K.-based tobacco products company.
