John R. Hancock was appointed President of Gerber Technology in February 2005 and continues to serve as Senior Vice President of Gerber Scientific, Inc. He was formerly President of Gerber Coburn, a position he held since December 2001.

A 30-year veteran of the optical industry, Mr. Hancock served as Gerber Coburn's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing from February 1998 to September 2001, serving thereafter in a part-time executive advisory role. He was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Coburn Optical Industries Inc., Tulsa, Okla., from 1994 through the acquisition of Coburn by Gerber in 1998. Prior to joining Gerber, he was employed by Omega Optical, Dallas, for 11 years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He began his marketing and sales career in the optical industry with American Optical Co., Southbridge, Mass., in 1973.

Mr. Hancock attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisc.
