Doris Skoch, President of Spandex Ltd. to Retire In April 2005

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT -- Gerber Scientific, Inc. (NYSE: GRB) today announced that Ms. Doris Skoch, president of Gerber Scientific's UK-based Spandex Ltd. business unit, will retire at the end of the company's fiscal year, April 30, 2005. Ms. Skoch will work with the Company to develop a transition plan prior to that time. The Company expects to name a successor in the near term.

Since joining Gerber Scientific in 1997, Ms. Skoch has served in several senior executive roles including vice president of finance for Gerber Coburn Optical immediately following Gerber's acquisition of Coburn. Subsequently, she was promoted to chief operating officer for Gerber Scientific Products, Gerber's computerized sign making and specialty graphics systems unit. In January 2002, Ms. Skoch was appointed Managing Director of Spandex and relocated to Europe.
