LAUNCHED SEVEN NEW PRODUCTS

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT, December 11, 2002 -- Gerber Scientific, Inc.’s (NYSE: GRB) ophthalmic lens processing subsidiary, Gerber Coburn, introduced several new products at the Optical Laboratory Association (OLA) Exhibition and Conference, Indianapolis, IN, November 21-23, 2002: the Eclipse Surface Blocker^TM, Hercules high-volume, backside coater, Dimetrix finish blocker and lens verification device, Metrix-Lab lensmeter, DFS II surfacing pad system, enhanced SL2 generator, and Gemini^TM for the CR39 process.

Ranging in scope from surfacing products to lens inspection devices, the new surfacing products challenge and streamline existing lens processing methods, while eliminating non-value added steps; and the lens inspection devices offer the latest technology in lens analysis.
